BACKGROUNDER

Independent Sovereign State of Australia is a micronation state that was declared on 24.12.1990 centered around Moorooka (Brisbane), Queensland, Australia. The declaration as a state was based on International Law and Sections 116, 117 and 118 of the Australian Constitution.

The government was established on the Vatican Model with a Federal State Bank issuing ISSA Dollars declared to be on par with the Australian Dollar.

The first series of banknotes were released in 2006 in limited quantities using TESLIN, a polymer, as the printing substrate. A quantity of $5 Million Dollars are reported to have been printed for the second series.

An numbered and uncut sheet of all six denominations of the second series are planned to be issued in limited quantities.
